Sounds Like Footsteps On My Roof

My birds who usually get spooked by loud odd sounds didn t react.

Sounds like footsteps on my roof.

As if someone was walking on the roof. It could be any number of animals walking around on your roof. To describe how it sounded it sounded like large heavy footsteps. I was cleaning leaves on my roof when this weird wave of low level sound started.

Then i found out that that s what it was. The noise could be coming from your roof during the hottest days of the summer when the rays of the sun beat down on the shingles. This is a much larger animal than a rat or bird and it usually easy to tell its presence from the much heavier and slower footfalls and they don t gnaw wood like the rodents will.

When it stopped it never started again. If it s coming from the radiators you may have condensed steam. One evening i heard it and it sounded almost like a tree fell onto my roof. It s a frost quake.

It doesn t really come across in the video but the sound was impossible to pin down. The thing is my parents were awake at the same time but they didnt hear anything.
